Collage and FUSE, the Art of Asher and Muse

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Opening reception Thur, Nov 29, 5-7pm; Exhibition Nov 23-Jan 4, 2019

To close out the season of shows in 2018, The Reclaimed Room Gallery presents "Collage and FUSE, the Art of Asher and Muse". These two Bayview-based artists bring together the hard and the soft in the juxtaposition of mediums. From paper to metal and vinyl to glass, Asher and Muse find whatever materials they can use and reuse to create two and three dimensional works of art.

Jes Muse is a third generation artist, a native New Yorker and works both abstractly and figuratively in many mediums including metal and glass. Jes has recently created pieces attaching commercial grade vinyl to everyday objects including parasols as well as a Mondrian-inspired art car.

Lani Asher's quiet and meditative drawings echo the shapes, colors, and textures found in her "crazy quilt" collages. The delicate surfaces are multilayered drawings and paintings collaged together with rice paper and glue. Originally from Los Angeles, she also writes about art, and has taught for many Bay Area art nonprofits.

This show opens November 23rd and will be on view through January 4th 2019. More information of the artists can be found at ReclaimedRoom.com .
