The Cole Porter Society is pleased to present COLE PORTER IN PARIS: THE LOST SONGS, featuring the West Coast Premiere of La Revue Des Ambassadeurs, a newly unearthed thought to be lost production of Cole Porter in Paris in 1928, performed by Cole Porter Society founder and entertainer, Noah Griffin along with an incredible ensemble of Bay Area musicians and performers. This music revue also commemorates the 50th anniversary of the passing of the legendary American composer and songwriter. COLE PORTER IN PARIS: THE LOST SONGS takes place on Sunday, October 12th, 2pm at the Marin Showcase Theater (10 Avenue of the Flags, San Rafael, CA 94903). Ticket prices are $125 (includes one year membership to The Cole Porter Society, preferred seating, admittance to pre-concert talk on Cole in Paris, monthly newsletter, Noah Griffin CD "An Evening of Cole Porter", and after concert reception with performers); $95 (includes admittance to pre-concert talk on Cole in Paris, monthly newsletter); and $65 (includes a monthly subscription to Cole Porter Society newsletter). “I am truly honored and excited to bring this performance to Marin which has only been heard once in America in the last 86 years,” said Cole Porter Society founder Noah Griffin. “This historic presentation provides a glimpse into the early development of one of America’s most brilliant musical minds. This is a true gem of a show for Marin County.

The evening will feature 18 Cole Porter tunes for La Revue Des Ambassadeurs show. Noah Griffin lends his limitless Cole Porter expertise and warm baritone to an ensemble of stellar Bay Area performers including cabaret favorites Kitty Margolis, Deborah Winters, and Amanda King, versatile musical theatre principal Patrick Leveque, Sing for America director and recitalist Martin Bell, Opera San José star tenor, Michael Dailey, and Grammy-nominated soprano, Desiree Goyette, who doubles as the evenings Music Director. The evening will also feature a dance performance by Cynthia Glinka along with other dancers, as well as a performance by 13-year-old Tiburon singing prodigy Sofia Perozzi.

Berkeley native and now legendary New York society pianist, Peter Mintun, joins forces with the incredible jazz composer/arranger, Laurence Hobgood, to accompany the ensemble on double grand pianos.

Noted musical historian and archivist who discovered the lost portfolio, Ken Bloom, will be the evenings overall director. As a special addition, Cole Porter expert Charles Troy will give a mixed-media pre-performance presentation on Cole Porter in Paris.

This program is the first annual fundraiser for the Cole Porter Society, a 501 C 3. Donations go to help preserve, promote and perpetuate the genre of the Great American Song Book through the genius of Cole Porter for the benefit of the younger generations.

ABOUT COLE PORTER:
Cole Porter was an American composer and songwriter best known for his work, writing songs for the Broadway musical stage. Unlike many Broadway composers, Porter wrote the lyrics as well as the music for his songs. In 1949 he won a Tony award for his most successful musical, Kiss Me, Kate. Porter's other musicals include Red, Hot and Blue, Anything Goes, Can-Can and Silk Stockings. Some of his hit songs include "Night and Day", "I Get a Kick Out of You", and "I've Got You Under My Skin”. He also composed scores for films from the 1936 to 1957 before passing away in 1964.


ABOUT NOAH:
Noah Griffin began his musical career with the San Francisco Boy’s Chorus at the age of 7 soloing in La Boheme with the San Francisco Opera and sharing the stage with Nat Cole, Leontyne Price and Paul Robeson. He performed at the hungry i, sang at the Purple Onion and while in college toured with the famed Jubilee Singers and the Fisk University Choir singing with the Nashville Symphony and the Philadelphia Philharmonic. While at Harvard Law School he solo’ed with The Harvard University Choir and auditioned for and sang with Duke Ellington. He wrote the song first performed for the Giants to open the then Pac-Bell Park. He has performed at jazz venues from San Francisco, to Las Vegas and New York and most recently narrated a Martin Luther King piece with the Marin Symphony. He is the lyricist and vocalist for the official ballad of the Golden Gate Bridge titled “The Bridge Golden Gate”.
