Every second Saturday of the month, CMC and Tango dance faculty member Sonja Riket host a monthly Milonga (Argentine Tango social dance gathering) with a drop-in class and dancing to Tango music from the Golden Era and beyond. This Milonga series will include live music and dance performances by local and international Tango guests. This month features live music by Tango guitarists Patricio Crom and CMC Faculty Scott O'Day, and singer Tristana Ferreyra. Candlelit tables and wine make it a night to remember!

About the artists:
Born in Buenos Aires, Patricio Crom is an arranger, composer, and guitarist of Argentine music. He studied tango guitar at the Academia Nacional del Tango with maestro Aníbal Arias. Patricio has recorded several albums, as well as performed throughout South America, Europe, and Asia. In 2019, Patricio will release his third album with singer Juan Villareal recorded in Valencia Spain titled "En la luna de Valencia". In addition to his musical activities, he is an accomplished puppeteer, a collector of antique Argentine guitars, and is preparing a documentary film on tango guitar.
Scott O'Day is a local Bay Area favorite for tango music, appearing regularly in concert and at the milonga. He attended La Escuela de Música Popular de Avellaneda, a tango music school in Buenos Aires, and has performed with several tango groups all around the U.S., Canada, and Argentina to popular acclaim. Currently, O'Day is also the instructor for the Community Music Center Tango Ensemble in San Francisco.
Tristana Ferreyra is a singer and a choral conductor from Argentina. As a soloist singer she has performed in Argentina and Finland and she now continues in the USA. She has staged new pieces and participated in art installations.Tristana sings many different styles of music, most recently Argentinian tango. She is currently also singing in Convivium choir, led by Eric Tuan, in Los Altos CA.
