Come thrill in the excitement of live chamber music again! Family and friends come together in a night of glorious music. The program features solos, duos and trios celebrating both new and recent works from local composers Paul Dresher, Matt Ingalls, and Monica Scott, as well as rarely-heard gems by George Antheil and Bohuslav Martinu, a new transcription of Igor Stravinsky's Ebony Concerto for clarinet/bass clarinet and piano, and Rigmarole for bass clarinet and cello - one of Elliott Carter's late works, performed at his 103rd birthday! The evening concludes with the monumental Shostakovich Piano Trio No. 2, written in part to grieve for all the lost of the world, played at Shostokovich's own memorial in the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory.
