City of Fire: Free Community Celebration

Celebrate ‘Teotihuacan: City of Water, City of Fire’ with us on Saturday, November 11th, and explore one of the earliest, largest, and most important cities in the ancient Americas.

Enjoy a short film, dance to Oakland-based band, Candelaria, make your own artwork inspired by Teotihuacan and explore the exhibition itself - all for free!


EVENTS & ACTIVITIES:

• Family art-making, 11am-4pm, Piazzoni Murals Room
• Dance performance by Danza Xitlalli, 12-12:30pm, Wilsey Court
• Make your own print with Linda Janklow of Peopleologie, 12-4pm, Piazzoni Murals Room
• 'Sesenta y Ocho Voces, Sesenta y Ocho Corazones (68 Voces)' film screenings, 12-4pm in Koret Auditorium
• Live music by Candelaria, 12:30-2pm, Wilsey Court
• Latin Vinyl Mix DJ set by Bobby Gee with Spin and Sparkle, 2-4pm, Wilsey Court

LET'S CHAT: Want to talk about the art of Teotihuacan in depth?
Community representatives will be in the galleries from 11am-3pm, ready to chat and share more information about the artworks.

Programs and museum admission are free courtesy of the National Endowment for the Arts. Come onsite the day-of to redeem a free ticket to see 'Teotihuacan: City of Water, City of Fire' from 9:30 am–4:30 pm. Admission into the permanent collection is free with no ticket required.
