Known for his use of bold, postmodern shapes and uncommon materials, he has won numerous awards for his innovations in architecture, including the prestigious Pritzker Prize. Many of his buildings are world-renowned attractions, including the titanium-clad Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain; Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles; and Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris, France. His more recent and ongoing projects include a new Guggenheim facility in Abu Dhabi, the new Facebook headquarters in Menlo Park, and a memorial to Dwight D. Eisenhower in Washington, D.C. In recent years, he has served as a professor of architecture at Columbia University, Yale, and the University of Southern California.
