Chuck Ragan & The Camaraderie // The White Buffalo

SEE EVENT DETAILS
at Slim's - Closed (see times)
It’s my privilege to announce that I’ll be hitting the American road early April in support of our new record "Till Midnight" set to release on Side One Dummy Records March 25th. I’ll be rolling out with the full band we call The Camaraderie made up of Jon Gaunt, Todd Beene, Joe Ginsberg and David Hidalgo Jr. We’re also extremely honored to announce that we’ll be joined by The White Buffalo and Jonny Two Bags on the majority of the dates. We’re all looking forward to a great run and hope to see you out this Spring! – Chuck Ragan

In a musical life that spans close to three decades, Chuck Ragan has consistently worn his heart on his sleeve, and carved out a musical niche in the process. First with post-hardcore trailblazers Hot Water Music and subsequently on his own, he’s built a large and singularly powerful body of work whose honesty, immediacy and warmth have won the loyalty of a fiercely devoted international fan base that’s supported him through his various musical incarnations. Chuck Ragan’s bracing new release "Till Midnight" once again confirms what the iconoclastic singer-songwriter’s fans have known all along: that he’s a deeply compelling songwriter and an effortlessly charismatic performer, as well as a true believer in music’s ability to illuminate and inspire.

Working under the apt nameplate The White Buffalo, singer/songwriter Jake Smith has resolutely charted his own single-minded course for more than a decade. An imposing figure with a voice to match, a resonant, roughhewn baritone, Smith writes about rebels, outsiders and troubled souls battling their way through the obstacles life throws in their paths, telling timeless tales generally set against recognizably contemporary backdrops. "I skirt the line between good and evil in a lot of my songs," Smith points out. The hard-bitten themes and performances that have defined his career led the producers of Sons of Anarchy to grab six of Smith’s songs for use under scenes in the similarly edgy series, while The White Buffalo’s "American Dream," was written specifically for the 2013 feature film The Lone Ranger: Wanted. As The White Buffalo, he stands as a true original, presenting his singular vision with conviction and immediacy, and leaving an ever-bigger footprint on the American roots-music landscape.
