CHRISTOPHER SKY, Wes Willenbring, Alex Ness, Issaiah Vaca

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Christopher Sky

Christopher Sky is an composer, multi-instrumentalist and producer based in Los Angeles.Employing guitar, rhodes piano, electronics and loops, Christopher Sky crafts soundscapes that feel boundless and expansive. Constantly evolving, each piece adopts nuanced textural and rhythmic motifs as both narrative devices and atmospheric signifiers. Sky’s deft handling of space and scale delivers some truly beatific vistas that are both inviting and transportive.

Wes Willenbring

Wes Willenbring’s songs revolve around the primary elements of guitar, piano, and synthesizer. After being written and recorded they are disassembled, reconstructed and manipulated to create music that is both visceral and expressive. This bridging of melody and texture, of form and formlessness, acts to draw the listener into territory that is at once unknown yet intimately familiar.

Alex Ness

Alex Ness makes a bunch of different types of music with a bunch of different types of people. For a while he was in a band called Glissando bin Laden (released on Carrier Records). He collaborated with Israeli composer Yoni Niv on a series of audiovisual compositions (performed at The Stone, NYC). He recently had a piece performed by the San Francisco Composers Chamber Orchestra. He has self-released a number of noisy, drony albums on Bandcamp.

Issaiah Vaca

Issaiah Vaca is a Los Angeles based Ambient/Drone artist. Performing up and down the west coast, he has made himself a name in the scene nationally and internationally. His dream like textures and forward thinking production allow for the listeners to be submerged in a chaotic wall of sound while still maintaining a sense of beauty.
