Chasms was formed in 2011 by Jess Labrador and Shannon Sky Madden. As the primary architect of the dark San Francisco duo, Labrador crafts percussive dirges with pummeling drum programming, hypnotizing guitar work and haunting vocals. Drawing upon the dreamy goth and post-punk of 1980s-era 4AD Records, Chasms combines familiar shoegaze affectations with the heaviness of doom metal, drone and industrial.
