Born in Birmingham, Alabama, Farr is considered a master of the American Realist tradition. His work can be found in the collections of UC Santa Cruz, the National Museum of American Art in Washington D.C., the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Oakland Museum of California, the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, the Harrison Museum of Art in Logan, Utah, and numerous private collections.
