YOU ARE INVITED TO ARRIVE 15-20 MINUTES EARLY TO VIEW A SPECIAL WWI EXHIBIT IN THE VETERAN GALLERY BEFORE WE BEGIN. WE WILL BEGIN PROMPTLY ON TIME, IN THE VETERANS GALLERY (ROOM 102), FIRST FLOOR LOBBY.
At the historic centennial anniversary of Armistice day, Centennial Reckoning brings to light untold stories of LGBTQ+ and Immigrant veterans, active duty service members and non-veterans, from WWI to today. Join us for an epic journey through real life stories from the archives to the contemporary tales of our ensemble, as we reckon with the history and our current reality. The performance work takes place as an audience-interactive experience, throughout the historic veterans building, war memorial and site. Bringing together theater, dance, ensemble devised, site-specific, contemporary performance, this is: an artistic and aesthetic work, an educational dialogue, and a call to action.
EchoTheaterSuitcase project bridges the divide between military veterans and the civilian public, bringing together mixed ensembles of veterans and non-veterans to create original performances based on their own stories.
KD>>MG and EchoTheaterSuitcase project has created a new performance work together with veterans and non-veteran civilian artists. We thank our partners: the American Legion War Memorial Commission (ALWMC) and Veterans for Peace (VFP). This performance takes place as part of a series of events comemorating the centennial anniversary of Armistice day, November 11, 2018.
