Celtic Americana Duo Robin Flower & Libby McLaren Debut Radiant New CD “One Plus One”,

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Robin Flower and Libby McLaren are excited to be debuting their new CD, One Plus One at the Freight & Salvage on Saturday, June 20th at 8:00 p.m. One Plus On is a duo CD collection of original songs and tunes which showcase the artistry and versatility of Robin Flower and Libby McLaren. The CD highlights their marvelous blend of Celtic and American roots music, which is grounded in tradition with a sound that’s always fresh and contemporary. On One Plus One Libby plays piano and accordion while Robin performs on mandolin, guitar, strumstick and fiddle.

The music is beautiful enhanced by their crystalline rich vocal harmonies. From the powerful to the sublime, they play all the instruments and perform all the vocal parts. Derek Bianchi is the sound engineer on One Plus One and he has technically and smoothly elicited the creative sounds, innovative instrumentals, tight vocal harmonies, wild energy and fun that is the essence of a live Flower and McLaren performance.

When asked why they decided to do a duo CD for the very first time (with no other musicians) Robin and Libby responded: “Well.....We have always wanted to record a CD of just the two of us, to hear what we could do by ourselves, highlighting our musical intimacy which has developed over these past 28 years. We also just plain wanted the opportunity to play all of the instruments and sing all of the song parts! It has been a great decision, super fun and continually inspiring.”

Accompanying Robin and Libby on stage for the One Plus One CD launch will be bass player extraordinaire Jan Martinelli and the inimitable Danny Carnahan of Wake the Dead. The evening with all of these incredible musicians promises to be exhilarating, fabulous and fun!
