Revel in Bach’s genius with choral movements from a variety of Bach’s cantatas, including Christ Lag in Todesbanden and Was Gott tut, das ist wohlgetan. The jubilant and heartening double choir motet, Fürchte dich nicht, ich bin bei dir, crowns the program, a celebration of the SF Bach Choir’s most beloved repertoire and a special farewell to Artistic Director Corey Jamason. Mr. Jamason will also play the organ in the Sinfonia from Gott soll allein mein Herze haben, accompanied by the SFBC Baroque Orchestra. A reception in his honor will follow the Sunday performance. Free pre-concert lecture 3 PM Sunday.
“Jamason’s clear-headed performance of the Italian Concerto rang in our ears…and gave it the careful, due balance of objective detachment and lofty passion.”
