Sunday, July 9, 2023, 11-3:30pm; Thursday, July 13, 3-4:30; Saturday, July 15, 1-3pm; Sunday, July 16, 1-7pm
Join us for a series of programs to mark the final phase of community and artist activation for the exhibition "Cara Levine: To Survive I Need You To Survive." The week will include a combination of public programs and private events centered around the artwork "Carve; The Mystic is Nourished From This Sphere" - a collaborative artwork between the artist and the public - and will engage themes of grief, healing, community, and interconnectedness. Programs will be led by a diverse range of participants throughout the week including the artists Heidi Quante and Alicia Scott of the Bureau of Linguistical Reality, spiritual community leader Maggid Jhos Singer, artist and sound artist Clare Hedin, and more.
During each of the seven days of the series, Levine will also be present in the gallery carving notes contributed by visitors into the surface of "Carve; The Mystic is Nourished From This Sphere." The week will culminate in a public event at Ocean Beach in San Francisco, where all are invited to join Levine in digging a hole for collective grief and celebrating the close of this week-long community effort.
