A winner of the National Prize of the Arts Grant in Argentina, J.P. Jofre has been repeatedly highlighted by the New York Times ever since he took up residency in New York City. Jofre has taken his form of contemporary tango to some of the most important venues in Asia, Europe, America and the Caribbean as soloist, composer and arranger. He has collaborated with the Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Paquito D’ Rivera Sextet, Nina Beilina, Dartmouth Wind Symphony Orchestra, Festival of the Americas Symphony Orchestra, Fernando Otero Quintet, Westchester Jazz Orchestra, Mendoza National Symphony Orchestra, and Frost Studio Jazz Band, among many others. Jofre has also received commissions and been invited to participate in many prominent festivals, including the prestigious Umbria Jazz Festival, Sudtirol Jazz Festival, Celebrity Series of Boston, American Virtuosi, and Bachanalia Taiwan. Jofre’s first CD features 11-time Grammy winner Paquito D’ Rivera, who recorded “Primavera," an original composition of Mr. Jofre's.
