CALIFORNIA (ex-Jawbreaker/Green Day)
California is a brand new band by Adam Pfahler of Jawbreaker and Jason White from Green Day.
EL TERRIBLE
Terry Ashkinos of Fake Your Own Death (Monolathe Recordings) and Producer Rob Easson spent the summer of 2013 in Rob's home studio obsessively crafting a new collection written by Ashkinos during his extended stay in Berlin earlier in the year. The EP features Sierra Frost of Clintongore and Dan Francisco of Fake Your Own Death and Every Move a PIcture. The live band is a ferocious three piece featuring Scott Eberhardt, Adrian McCullough and Terry Ashkinos. These sessions bear a sound much darker and more sparse than Fake Your own Death, wrought with post-punk urgency.
Their debut EP is now out on Breakup Records.
Vela Eyes
San Francisco’s Vela Eyes blends indie, shoegaze and post punk with a touch of psych to create lush, timeless pop music that strongly evokes images of the city’s bohemian past. Lyrically, they are inspired by fantasies of love, and the beauty of empowerment.
The band started as a side project between guitarist Ian Zazueta (Delle Vellum, the Paradise Boys) and front woman Florie Maschmeyer – completed by Andrew Dietrich Burmester (Kill Moi, Madelia) as bass player; Jef Pauly (New Diplomat, Modi) as drummer; and Julia Johari as second keyboard player, guitarist and background vocalist.
"A perfect fusion of the rawness of punk influences with the technical proficiency and sampling-song mapping of a DJ set." --San Francisco Bay Guardian.
