Café con Leche is the name of one of the most popular rock bands in Costa Rica during the '80s, and is one of the most important in the musical history of the country.
It was founded in 1984 and led by a duo formed by José Capmany and Enrique Ramírez with a concept that combined music with lyrics loaded with humor or everyday parodies, a genre that was innovative and unique.
Capmany played the guitar and sang, while Ramírez was in charge of the humorous part and performed sounds with a finger. Due to personal and artistic differences, the pair decided to separate in 1987.
José continued a recognized career in the Costa Rican musical medium, first using the name of the band until 1995, to later incursion as a soloist. Meanwhile, his ex-partner had a much lower and more discreet profile, leading to the death of both in 2001 under different and tragic circumstances. -
