What is Filament?
At Black Rock City this year we are exhibiting FILAMENT, a 40ft sculpture designed to facilitate a truly transcendent experience for everyone who interacts with it at Burning Man 2022. This sculpture comes to life when participants enter into its belly and become the filament which binds the individual and art together. When activated, Filament awakens and a symphony of lights and sounds hum to life. The longer the individual interacts with the piece, the brighter and more intense it becomes until it finally crescendos into a supernova of light exploding over the deep playa and into the heavens. Participants will feel what it's like for the essence of art to enter their body and shine out into the world as their spirit connects physically with the world around them. Their inner experience and outside reality become one in a fusion of spirit and matter.
