To kick off ZERO1's BRING IT! Performance Art Series we are excited to present an intimate performance of "This World Made Itself" and "Myth and Infrastructure" by Miwa Matreyek.
Internationally recoginzed, Miwa Matreyek is an animator, designer, and multimedia artist based in Los Angeles. In her projection based performances, animation takes on a more physical and present quality, while body and space take on a more fantastical quality, creating an experience that is both cinematic and theatrical. Matreyek will be performing a multimedia live performance work combining projected animation and the artist's own shadow silhouette as she interacts with the fantastical world of the video. Doors open at 7:45, performance will be from 8:00pm-9:00pm. Seating is limited, so be sure to purchase your tickets today!
“Multimedia artist Miwa Matreyek turns her silhouetted self into a virtual Mobius strip for a breathtaking array of variegated animation styles…magical. The sheer breadth of the imagery…is unlike anything you've seen before†– Los Angeles Times
