Featured Artists:
Ian Ross is best known for his huge murals & live painting events in startup offices across the Bay Area, including The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, as well as large-scale pieces in the offices of Google, Gap HQ and Whatsapp. He is an interdisciplinary artist whose love of the natural world deeply influences his practice. Ian abandons himself to his subconscious & paints through a series of dance-like, repetitive motions that come to him without a definite game plan. Throughout his painting career, Ian has become a central figure in San Francisco’s street art & gallery scenes.
Zio Ziegler is inspired by the 1990 graffiti movement in the San Francisco Bay Area & Europe as well as skateboard graphics & naive art. He is most notably known for his paintings and large-scale outdoor murals. Zio has had solo & group exhibitions of his paintings in Los Angeles, Puerto Rico, Singapore, London, New York, Milan, Laguna Beach, Tokyo & San Francisco. In 2013, he began to collaborate with Brands such as Urban Outfitters, Pottery Barn, & Vans & has painted murals at Facebook, the US open for surfing, Downtown Las Vegas, Brooklyn NY amongst others.
JM Rizzi (JMR) fuses a unique mixture of neo-abstract expressionism with hints of contemporary pop to create a style all his own. As he replicates the scale & motion set forth by early abstract expressionists, he reinterprets these ideas with his own distinct signature. Originally from Brooklyn, NY, JMR has been influenced by street art his entire life. His work has been shown alongside several street art legends including Blek, Banksy, Shepard Fairey, and Swoon, among many others.
San Francisco artists David Young V (D Young V) received his MFA from the Academy Of Art in 2006 & has spent the last decade creating large scale installations, murals & mixed media street art throughout the US, UK, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Thailand & Turkey. His work revolves around the idea of a highly technological post-apocalyptic society; his monochromatic pen & ink drawings might be mistaken for stencil from afar. President Obama recently named D Young V as America’s 2nd greatest living artist.
From the collaboration of The Monumental Word Series launched at Burning Man 2009 with Jeff Schomberg, Laura Kimpton will exhibit a three-foot scale version of “LOVE”, the third in a series of seven words, as well as her paintings & mixed media work. Laura’s fine art has been included in exhibitions at the di Rosa Gallery in Napa as well as museums & galleries across the nation with major shows in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, & Texas.
Karen Cusolito’s art takes many forms, from painting & mixed media to her most recent focus, large-scale steel sculptures. She currently operates the American Steel Studios in Oakland, CA & has shown her work at numerous festivals including Burning Man, Electric Daisy & Outside Lands. Karen will bring to life Tumble Leaf, a large-steel structured chair at the festival.
Initially inspired by a 2007 trip Burning Man, Katy Boynton envisioned & executed Heartfullness, an enormous metal heart that had been broken & pieced back together with her own two hands. Heartfullness has been featured at several festivals throughout the country & will be making its debut at BottleRock this year.
