It lingers after that person is gone, like psychedelic trails that you can still feel, until they dissipate into a faded dream.”Together with Glenn Michael Van Dyke, Chase Noelle, and Lena Simon, BOYTOY – yes that’s in all caps for added momentum, we prefer shouting the band name, you should try it – teeters on the edge of sweet-as-pie surf harmony and the more destructive, thrashy edge of pure rock ‘n’ roll, creating a sound entirely their own and backed with a slap of attitude. Their sophomore LP, Night Leaf, was recorded at Kyle Mullarky’s Pump House in Topanga, in the thick of his menagerie of old analog tapes and tube amps and pigs and dogs and surfboards.
