Boots and the Kats is a funk and soul band that hails from the San Francisco Bay Area. Originally formed by guitarist Mark Ignatius and drummer Jon Farland after both had moved to the bay from Los Angeles and Boston, respectively. The soulful and funky original sound of the group is driven by the powerful voice of Azeeta Nikoui and has grown to include veteran bass player Lucas Goodbody. Formed under the influences of James Brown, Rufus & Chaka Khan, Led Zeppelin, Hiatus Kaiyote, The Alabama Shakes, Erykah Badu, Stevie Wonder, The Meters & Lettuce to name a few.
