Akintunde Ahmad (Fashion Creator/Multimedia Journalist): Akintunde Ahmad is a Bay Area based fashion creator and multimedia journalist focusing on the intersection of education, economic inequality, and the justice system.
Ahmad, an East Oakland native, holds a BA in sociology from Yale University and an MS in journalism and documentary film from Columbia University. His written work has been featured in The Atlantic, The Appeal, Huffington Post, and MTV. He has been featured on broadcasts ranging from The Ellen Show to Sway in the Morning.
He is currently an Ida B Wells Fellow with Type Investigations, a teacher for the Oakland Unified School District's African American Male Achievement Program, and the founder of Ade Dehye, an ethically sustainable fashion brand which operates in Ghana.

Chayet Chiénin (Entrepreneur/Journalist/African Fashion Expert): Chayet is an African Fashion Consultant and the Founder & Editor-in-chief of Nothing But The Wax, a French new media website that celebrates and tells the untold stories of a connected afrodescendant youth: the black millennials. Nothing But the Wax deciphers the creative and intellectual effervescence running through the veins of that very diverse generation. Their space intends to be a relay mast for afropop culture. In 2016, thanks to the success of a crowdfunding campaign, Chayet was able to expand her vision for Nothing But The Wax, transforming it into a pop culture and society media, with a journalistic approach, an editorial line and a team. In 2018, Nothing But the Wax won the 3rd prize for innovation in the media by La Francophonie. Chayet is also passionate about traveling. She likes to meet new people, learn and discover new things.
Kimberly Mayfield, Ed.D (Dean, School of Education, Holy Names University): Dr. Kimberly Mayfield began her education career as a special education teacher for the Oakland Unified School District. She earned her Multiple Subjects Credential at Holy Names University where she has led the education department since 2011. She earned her Specialist Instruction Credential in Special Education and doctorate in Learning and Instruction at the University of San Francisco.
In 2018, Dr. Mayfield was named dean of the School of Education. She served as a co-convenor of the Effective Teachers for Oakland Community Taskforce from 2006-2011. Dr. Mayfield has been recognized by the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 black Women, the Oakland/Berkeley Chapter of Black Women Organized for Political Action ( BWOPA), and Oakland Parents Together for her impact on education in Oakland.
Dr. Mayfield serves as education policy adviser for the State Board of BWOPA and on the executive team for ARCHES. She is also the board chair for Oakland Natives Give Back. Dr. Mayfield is an advocate for the use of technology in education and is a member of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE).
