The newly renamed Boogie on the Avenue Festival, voted Best Local Festival in the entire "West Valley" Geographical area, will once again rock Downtown Campbell the weekend of May 16th and 17th. This popular Cajun-inspired celebration draws attendees from all over the Bay Area to enjoy the authentic Cajun food, live entertainment, unique arts and crafts and the enormous Crawdaddy Kids Corner.
The vibrant, spicy Louisiana feel of Boogie on the Avenue will have historic Downtown humming with fiery Zydeco and Cajun/Creole music all weekend long. Musical artists include Sauce Picante, Kickin' the Mule and Motordude Zydeco will have visitors dancing in the streets. For those people who love Jazz, Blues and Calypso, musical artists KeyLime Pie, Exit 85 and Colony Street Band are just a few of the bands slated to play at the festival.
Another huge draw of Boogie on the Avenue is the mouthwatering Cajun and New-Orleans-inspired fare. Many of the food vendors come from Louisiana, bringing their bona fide zesty seafood gumbos, Po' Boy sandwiches, red beans & rice, jambalayas, crawfish etouffe and, yes, even alligator on a stick!
Boogie on the Avenue boasts a fantastic shopping experience with over a hundred vendors as well as Business Row which features local companies offering their products and services. Again this year leading arts and crafts production company, California Artists, is securing unique vendors from all over the country to sell their product at the festival. The bountiful shopping will include an extensive array of handmade items including photography, glassware, jewelry and clothing.
Boogie on the Avenue's huge Crawdaddy Kids Corner is bursting with bounce houses, face painting, games and small carnival rides that will entice kids of all ages. The music, the food, the shopping and the fun make this festival one the entire family will enjoy.
