On August 19, we welcome Droog! Over the course of 8 eventful years since their genesis as the Droog collective, the Los Angeles-based trio – Andrei, Brett & Justin – have become true Renaissance men of underground dance music. Sprung from their DJ roots in late 90s/early ‘00s, Droog have taken on (nearly) all of the essential mantles: label heads – since 2009 their Culprit outfit has become a real force in the new “Deep” dance music movement; promoters of considerable experience and renown – their party series long a hometown institution, took on a global reach with events spanning Europe and the Americas; and producers – solo or with steady collaborator Inxec, they have infiltrated some of the top dance music labels like Crosstown Rebels, Get Physical, Supernature, Last Night on Earth, Noir and Akbal.Droog has now emerged as a touring DJ unit with a suitcase-full of highlights, from 4 appearances at the beloved Fabric in London, the twin Berlin clubbing institutions: Watergate and Renate, and Paris’ legendary Rex to memorable shows in Peru, Australia, Russia, Portugal, Ecuador and beyond.
Emanate: 2016 was a remarkable year in their progression touring Mexico, Ibiza, Bulgaria, Berlin and with festival bookings at BPM, Mountains in the Meadows, Northern Nights and Burning Man. In 2016 they also toured the U.S. performing at famous venues such as TV Lounge, Spy Bar and Members Only (NYC). 2017 has raised the bar even more starting out with an official BPM booking and a strengthening monthly called ‘Vibes’ at the renowned San Francisco club Monarch. In 2017 they also debuted at Movement festival Detroit with the party ‘Move It Or Lose It’ as well as a debut at the world famous club Watergate this past October. Their label Mioli Music released an elegant 5 track EP by the legend Tigerskin with a remix by Emanate mid summer this year receiving warm reception and reviews by Magnetic Magazine & Ibiza Voice.
BVRLY: A collaboration project built by Jeff Hoblick and Matty Chirichillo. They are dedicated to crafting cuts fit for dance-floors from any decade in honor of their cosmic muse, the eternal disco goddess BVRLY.The duo got introduced at Desert Hearts Festival in spring 2017. They connected with their mutual love of classic sounds and extremely funky grooves, leading them to inevitably start a production project together, and so BVRLY was born.With rather diverse musical backgrounds, the passion of BVRLY is encapsulated in a diverse collection of worldly sounds and a unique approach to live performances. The duo has recently played in New York, Bogota & a series of festivals including... Form Arcosanti, Big Fire & Expansion.
