One can only hope that this hip-hop trio's name is a mashup of Will Smith's debut album Big Willie Style and 1974's Blaxploitation film Willie Dynamite. Whatever the origins, the guys in Big Willie Style are firm hip hop traditionalists, with '70s funk-loving boom bap production courtesy of DJ Ray and a focus on clever wordplay, sincere rhymes and catchy hooks by Marc Stretch and Mondo. They've been around the block, as they're old enough to base their latest music video entirely around Cannonball Run, and they somehow even got their hands on the Ghostbusters ambulance for it. Their latest album Joes v. Pros was released late last year. (Stephen Layton)
