Between the object of desire and the one who desires lies a complex landscape born from thoughts and emotions. In an attempt to extinguish discomfort and experience pleasure the lines are drawn. Explore those lines with us. Open Reception April 9th 6-8pm
The intentional and playful lines drawn in wire by wireist extraordinaire, Diane Komater guide us in the undulating rhythm of form. Shadows cast by her alluring pieces seem to have a life of their own, duplicating the design while adding another dimension that moves and sways to the whims of outside forces. As images become exaggerated, we are left with comical and sometimes embarrassing scenarios of humans being human.
The lines contine to speak in the works of Jenna Hansen. Through her paintings, she creates layered dimensions suggesting an alternate reality of form within a seemingly normal landscape. What appears on the surface contrast with what lines underneath. Calm faces keep secrets of knotted emotions below that tells us a different story.
Flora Art Studio indulges in a full stream of desires unleashed. Pouring from the walls, objects of desire dangle and tempt us to partake in the revelry. These objects of desire look so real one needs to look twice to see they are in fact made of ceramics. We are smitten by the illusion and belief is suspended along with delicious hanging sweets.
