The scientific term “superposition” means the overlay or interaction of similar values. Superposition appears to be a possible way to apprehend these seemingly really diverse works of the five artists Marcel Bühler, Jens Hanke, Cornelia Renz, Peter Rühle and Torsten Rühle. Even without characterizing each of the five artists separately, it becomes clear that they have something in common - all their works are modules of today's reality, of its claim and interpretation. Not linear in their phrasing, but simultaneously overlaying each other.
The show was first presented in Berlin in 2012/13 and will now be on display at the Goethe-Institut in San Francisco from January 15th until February 4th. The brothers Torsten and Peter Rühle will be present at the opening reception.
Join us for a curated exhibition tour with curator Susanne Wedewer-Pampus and artist Cornelia Renz on January 30th at 7 pm.
Marcel Bühler will be present at the finissage on February 4th - a last occasion to get to know Berlin's young art scene.
In collaboration with the Consulate General of Germany, San Francisco.
With the generous support of the Federal Foreign Office of the German Government.
