Over 100 handpicked artists and craftspeople at studios, workshops, creative spaces and galleries in and around Berkeley open their doors to the public for the 28th annual Berkeley Artisans Holiday Open Studios. This event is FREE.
A diverse assortment of fine art and artisan craft will be available including: blown glass, functional, decorative and sculptural ceramics, ornaments, menorahs, painted & custom furniture, garden art, floor cloths, one-of-a-kind clothing, modern textiles for home and body, leather bags, many styles of jewelry, art made of up-cycled materials, sculpture, creative lighting, photography, paintings, original and experimental prints, works on paper, mosaics, stained glass, and more. All work is handcrafted, and many pieces are one-of-a-kind. A number of artists and creative spaces also teach classes and workshops.
This self-guided tour presents a unique opportunity to meet the artists, to buy original & creative gifts, and to see working craft studios, giving viewers a glimpse into the creative process. Many studios are in the same building, or are clustered within walking distance of each other. This much anticipated, popular event is known for the high quality of the work shown.
