From one unique ceramic artist's work to the next, you will be amazed at the originality of each piece of hand-crafted ceramics in the Berkeley Potters Guild's Annual Seconds Sale. The vibrant collective, formed 42 years ago, transforms their warehouse space into a beautiful showcase of their individually diverse and sophisticated approaches to works in clay--a living testimony of their devotion to the art of fine craft and its aesthetic.
Resident artists have been gathering fabulous seconds and retired wares from storage shelves to offer at bargain prices, as well as creating refreshing new pieces to exhibit alongside. Whimsical, philosophical and botanical cups, elegant red teapots, earthy chocolate brown bowls, gracious vases, "wall dots", animals, giant fermentation jars, delicate fragrance bottles and miniature hanging planters wait to please your eye and hand. Enjoy a stroll through our studios and new Guild Gallery to find a pot that has a special vibration for you. The Native American potters tell us, "Every pot remembers the hands that made it." Our pots are made with that intention.
Please come meet the artists and see the work they make together in an atmosphere of collective creativity.
