On June 10th we open a Christians in the Visual Arts (CIVA) traveling exhibition, Beauty Given by Grace: The Biblical Prints of Sadao Watanabe, featuring original works of graphic art by Japan’s foremost Christian artist of the 20th century. Together, the works compose a comprehensive visual narrative of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. The distinct and vibrant prints that make up this exhibition offer a new perspective in which to be inspired by these timeless stories. The opening will be preceded by a lecture by the author, Jonathan Homrighausen. He will be presenting on his new book, Illuminating Justice: The Ethical Imagination of the St. John’s Bible. The lecture begins at 10:30am and is followed by a reception in the gallery at 12pm.
