In this workshop we will be focusing on the facades (and the faces) of the houses of San Fransisco. Looking at a building and drawing it is one thing, but SEEING a building, it’s personalityand character, takes something else. We will move away from getting angles and proportions ‘right’ or the windows level, to see the essence of the building and create drawings that burst with life and movement. We will learn how to listen to the building (and it’s environment) to tell us what colors to use. We will use color washes to map our drawings. We will learn how to pick out the important details, and how to leave out what is unnecessary.
This workshop is a repeat of Andrea’s 2019 San Francisco Bay Area Urban Sketchers’ 10 x 10 workshop.
