Legendary music producer DJ Dan “The Automator” Nakamura has teamed up with Simon Ford and his jack-of-all-trades Fords Gin to create “Beats & Botanicals,” a night of a family-style food, cocktails that highlight Fords Gin versatility, and a specially curated soundtrack performed live by The Automator, showcasing unreleased tracks, hip-hop classics, and crowd favorites.
“Beats & Botanicals” will take place on Monday, June 12 at Rich Table. Chef de Cuisine Brandon Rice will create a three-course feast with an American-Chinese theme featuring dishes such as: Soft Shell Crab Lo Mein, General Tso’s Chicken seasoned with Fords Gin, Char Siu and more. Dinner will be paired with Fords Gin cocktails created by Simon Ford and Rich Table’s bar manager, Tommy Quimby. The night will also celebrate Bay Leaf Kitchen, a non-profit that teaches kids about farm-to-table cooking and encourages practical kitchen skills, with a portion of ticket sales benefiting the organization. There will be two seatings, from 5-8pm and 8:30-11:30pm, with 45 tickets available per seating. Tickets are $175 per person and include food, cocktails and gratuity.
For guests who purchase a ticket or for those may not be able to make it, The Automator is offering a sneak peak at a new song, “Summer Lovin,” recorded with Handsome Boy Modeling School bandmate Jennifer Charles. Created under the alias Nathanial Merriweather, the song will be officially released on June 23 as part of an exclusive Amazon Music Playlist called “Songs of Summer.” Until then, music aficionados can stream the song here or download here (free for Amazon Prime members, .89 cents for non-members).
