From Rolling Stone and Billboard to the New York Times and TeenVOGUE, Bea Miller has repeatedly been called out as an artist to watch. Her unique voice and perspective inform the edgy, anthemic pop she’s come to be known for. After competing on second season of The X Factor, Bea signed to Hollywood Records in 2013 and began working on her four-song debut EP, Young Blood, released in 2014. She returned in 2015 with her critically acclaimed debut full-length album, Not An Apology which debuted at #7 on the Billboard 200 and featured hit singles “Young Blood” and the gold selling hit “Fire N Gold.” Her music captured the attention of Demi Lovato, who invited Bea to join her on a string of dates on her 2015 world tour, and good friends Fifth Harmony with whom she also toured the U.S. in 2015.
While the New Jersey born Miller is currently co-writing and recording her sophomore album, (working with some of the top songwriters and producers from Julia Michaels, Justin Tranter, Sir Nolan, Jesse Shatkin and Pop & Oak, to Ilsey and Nick Jonas to name a few), she couldn’t pass up the invite to join Selena Gomez on her 2016 Revival tour across North America. For the tour, Bea performed two new songs, “A Song Like You” and “Yes Girl” the first track released from her forthcoming album.
“Yes Girl,” co-written by Bea, Ilsey (Beyoncé, Drake), Pop & Oak (Nicki Minaj, Alessia Cara) and produced by Pop & Oak, showcases Miller’s powerful, raspy vocal range and her willingness to explore the emotions of a complicated relationship. The song captures Bea musically and lyrically with its message: I could tell you what you want to hear / Cause the truth is always in the way / I never wanna live in fear / I don’t wanna hold back all the things I need to say.
Bea is currently working on her sophomore album due out early 2017.
