Bay Choral Guild presents a Holiday program of choral works accompanied by the Frequency 49 woodwind quintet. Featured work is a world premiere commissioned by BCG, Missa Brevis for the Refugees of War by Saratoga composer Henry Mollicone. Also on the program: Gaudete, an arrangement of traditional Christmas melodies, by Swedish composer, Anders Ohrwall, and Daniel Pinkham's Christmas Jubilations which sets unusual Christmas texts. All the pieces in the show are late 20th/early 21st Century compositions, and the texts are liturgical, although some perhaps not typically Christmas. This show won't be like anything else you might hear this Christmas season. It really is out-of-the-ordinary!
