Bay Area Loves U... A benefit for Monique Porsandeh

On February 24th, 2013, Monique was walking in San Francisco with a friend when they were struck by a car in a hit-and-run incident. Monique's friend is back to their normal routine, but Monique was left in the street severely injured.

Monique sustained traumatic brain injury, as well as multiple complex bone fractures; leg, pelvis, collarbone, and several vertebrae. She was in the hospital for several weeks, underwent extensive orthopedic surgery, and was in and out of ICU several times, before she was stabilized. Eventually, Monique was transported by ambulance from San Francisco General Hospital, to an inpatient rehabilitation facility near Santa Barbara, so she could be closer to family.

Unfortunately, since the accident was a hit-and-run, and the driver has not been caught, Monique has to shoulder the extraordinary medical bill of close to $250,000.00.
