Beginning at England’s seminal house music club; Manchester’s Hacienda, to selling out legendary club nights such as Renaissance, Cream and closer to home NYC’s Twilo, Sasha has built a name as one of the best DJ’s in the industry. From being the first DJ cover star on Mixmag in 1991 to being crowned #1 in the DJ Mag top 100 poll or being responsible for one of the best selling mix albums of all time to headlining countless festivals and global music events. A grammy nod? Check. It's clear that Sasha is an artist that has done it all.
Fast forward to 2013 and Sasha's presence is still firmly rooted at the forefront of forward thinking house music, headlining some of the best music venues in the world including Berlin’s Panorama bar and London's Fabric. He's a DJ that breaks boundaries, taking his performances to the next level and setting new technical standards. From building The Maven, his pioneering midi controller many years ago or being the first to introduce Ableton into his sets, to his awe inspiring V_rtek shows - the notorious live LED reactionary festival show and his famed marathon sets at clubs across the world; Stereo in Montreal, Ministry of Sound London to Womb Tokyo, have given him one of the strongest brands in electronic music.
After years of selling out some of the biggest parties in Ibiza, he took up residency at the beach-front bar Ushuaia in 2010, bucking the trend of playing in a generic superclub. After a year of fantastic bookings and glowing reviews, Ushuaia has now moved to be arguably the hottest space on the Island, a mammoth open air stage under the stars. Which has played witness to him performing alongside hand-picked contemporaries such as Jamie Jones, Damian Lazarus, Julio Bashmore, Guy Gerber and Seth Troxler to name a few...
On Thursday December 12, the legend returns to Vessel for BASE – San Francisco’s leading underground electronic music party, now in it's seventh year and showing no signs of slowing down.
