BEN MONO
Lance DeSardi

Munich bred and Berlin based Ben Mono is an artist whose diversity has always commanded its own stylistic path. As a world-renowned producer and DJ, his unique framework of sound is always open to new influences and a wide range of directions. He's counted as one of the few musicians today who is a convincing mediator being constantly in a transition between styles. Active on various platforms such as Ed Banger, Gomma, Compost, Exploited, Permanent Vacation, Top Billin´ and Boysnoize Records, he loves understatement, and simply does not want to hide behind a bunch of project names.

Furthermore, his musical vision is strong enough to influence others in multiple different music scenes. A pioneer in mixing digital sound aesthetics with B-Boy vibes, he helped birth Bit Hop. Now collaborating with Strip Steve (Boysnoize Rec), the electro elements continue to get stronger in his work while always keeping one eye on the current Disco movement. This work has been championed by the likes of Justice, and Diplo and even received accolades from the grand architect of the genre, Egyptian Lover.

Now permanently oscillating around the globe, Ben brings the heat wherever he goes. Recent DJ shows have taken him to all four corners of the globe, sharing stages at clubs and festivals alongside with such diverse acts as Modeselektor, Santigold, Bag Raiders, Carl Craig, Dizzee Rascal, Prins Thomas, and MSTRKRFT amongst others.

He returns to SF for the first time in 7 years! Currently in the states and on tour with Boys Noize, he makes a very special stop on Thursday, March 28th to rock Vessel, home of Funktion One's flagship west coast sound system. Enough said.

Lance DeSardi

DEEP F@#KING HOUSE. Well thatʼs what he calls it, anyway. Some might say his sound blurs the lines between house and techno, but no one could deny that itʼs deep. Sub-aquatic deep. 20,000 leagues under the sea deep. Deeper than the Marianas Trench. Deeper than a deep-fried Mars bar kind-of-deep. Well, maybe not that deep. That shit is DEEP.

Lance has had loads of remixes and his own 12”s under various monikers for labels like Classic, Dessous, PIAS, Lazy Days, or Seasons, on which he released a full length album with JT Donaldson as Undercover Agency. The duo also had some success in 2004 with a DJ mix compilation and double unmixed vinyl for OM Records called San Francisco Sessions Volume 5.

As a DJ, Lance has traveled to the far corners of the globe, bringing his brand of tech-funk to sweaty rooms like The Rex in Paris, the now defunct Food Club in Brussels, the venerable Panorama Bar in Berlin, as well as tours in Australia, New Zealand, Portugal, Japan and other exotic locales. Heʼs also slugged it out in the trenches in places like Kansas City, El Paso, and Dallas, where he hails from, so itʼs not all glitz and glamour. Though mostly.***

$5 before 11pm with RSVP // $10 after // $5 advance tickets valid all night.
