About Event:
Friction Quartet will premiere "Three Elements" by Brian Baumbusch, recipient of the inaugural Matthew Paul Finnigan Commission Award, and will give an encore performance of "Smear Music" by Taylor Rankin. Members of the quartet joined by Ian Scarfe will also perform Max Stoffregen's "Coyote Plan" and 2nd annual !BAMM! Student Composer winner Wang-Fei Luo's "Illusion, in the deep of the abyss." Areon Flutes will premiere "Get-Go" by Ryan Brown, and the premiere of Howard Hersh's "Juke" will feature renowned percussionist Jack Van Geem of the San Francisco Symphony.
