Authority Zero: Authority Zero are punk rock legends. They started as kids jamming during the summer, but time has turned them into punks known for their energetic live show. The four piece hails from the Arizona desert, and has spent the majority of the last two decades out on the road perfecting the craft. Culling inspiration from their forefather's punk rock and ska movement, Authority Zero brings a raucous sound (and of course rebellious attitude) to modern pop punk. Energetic choruses, pop ready guitar solos, shouts of glee, and a gravelly lead vocal recall the great punks of yore: Pennywise, Rancid, Bad Religion, and the whole entire Southern California punk sound that took over in the 90s. Authority Zero cut their teeth with opening slots for pop punk stars NOFX and Sum41. Sure, with time punk bands tend to mellow -- but that has meant nothing but good for the dudes of Authority Zero, who have dabbled in acoustic punk with two of their live albums. Over the course of 18 years the band has evolved and changed, including the cast of musicians. Now you'll see brave moves from Authority Zero, like testing the waters of other genres such as reggae. It all goes towards surprising the audience, experimenting in the name of musical pleasure, and trying to keep their sound fresh despite the decades. Live, the band crazily blows through a long back category, including a foray or two into acoustic territory. Grown up skate punks, younger fans who are getting into pop punk, and stoner punks will unite -- and keep your eyes open, there could be a skank pit.
