Author-led Walk. Cesar Chavez Corridor (Outer Mission)

SEE EVENT DETAILS
JOIN THE AUTHORS of the SF Guide, Walking San Francisco's 49 Mile Scenic Drive, for a 2.3-mile hike along a rough raw edge of the 49 Mile Scenic Drive :
Walk #15 (of 17 Walks): Cesar Chavez to Dogpatch
For 80 years SF's 49 Mile Scenic Drive has directed tourists and locals alike around the Best of SF—and outerlying areas. Now it's SF's new walking adventure. Come join the fun—WALK the Drive.
Walk #15 begins in the Mission—Ceasr Chavez at Mission Sts—for a fascinating walk along the outer edge of the Mission, passed the somewhat dicey industrial edge of Bayview, into historic (though fairly newly reborn) Dogpatch. If you're aren't an experienced City hiker, this is a good section of the 49 Mile Drive to explore with a group.
As we walk by it all, the authors will share a few tidbits of the most-likely-true history and fun factoids we discovered while researching the guidebook.
FREE. Gratuities appreciated.
ENDS: 22nd & 3rd Streets. Hop on Muni back to the beginning (which includes a cool 24th Street Mission Walk option) Or take off for your own adventure.

Difficulty: flat, easy (1 out of 5 hill steepness rating).
Well-behaved children welcomed
Not good for dogs -- lots of broken glass on the street
Books available for purchase and autographing at event or walksf49.com
NEW: 49 Mile seagull signs available for purchase online
(If RAIN, or some act of God, cancels the walk, we'll inform attendees via email.)
