Javier Excudero will discuss his newest book, Pierre Fatumbi Verger: United States of America 1934 & 1937. Pierre Verger, one of the most significant photographers of the twentieth century, traveled to the US in 1934 and 1937 producing a collection of exceptional images that document with searing accuracy the national symbols that configured American identity and the challenging social and economic realities of the time while reflecting, with penetrating gaze, on the complex cultural and racial diversity of the country.
