In its 2018-19 season, ASA Faculty explores and celebrates the many facets of our American culture, through music. Join us in this three concert series -- an open musical conversation centered around the mysterious, beautiful, and indispensable differences that bring us together.
BRIDGES 1: This Land features Oakland-based hip-hop artist Celsius 7, along with the Vivo Chamber Orchestra in a performance of Hamilton “My Shot” by Lin Manuel Miranda. The Vivo Chamber Orchestra is comprised of students in the Alameda String Academy’s chamber music program.

Performer Bios:
Celsius 7 (Jacob Battersby) is a writer, producer, voice-actor and live-performer born and raised in the bay area. Beginning his career with local hip-hop favorites Psychokinetics, Jacob moved on to write, record and perform internationally with the groups Celsius 7 and KALRI$$IAN. His musical endeavors have resulted in 11 studio albums (all released under his indie record label) and garnered him both a John Lennon Songwriting Award and Independent Music Award. Jacob’s musical career eventually led him to become associate producer of the Legend Of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses which has toured extensively to critical acclaim and sold-out audiences around the world since 2012. Jacob continues to create from his home in Oakland, Ca where he lives with his beautiful wife and daughter.
