BAVC's Spring 2016 Artist-in-Residence Sofía Córdova (b. 1985, Carolina, Puerto Rico) discusses her practice in the context of the multiple sources that she draws upon to create her elaborate video, music, installation, and performance works. Córdova will present a trajectory of her art-making thus far while taking minor detours to discuss the histories of Caribbean colonization, dance music post-1970, encyclopedias, cam girl culture and capitalism, and science fiction, among other topics.
