This talk will begin at 5:00 pm. Doors will open at 4:30. Please arrive a bit early to check in and find a seat!
Join us for a behind the scenes talk with Catherine Bailey, Heath Owner and Creative Director, and Tung Chiang, Director of the Heath Clay Studio in San Francisco, to learn how Design Series 5: Forming Fables came to life. Our annual Design Series show is the result of a year-long exploration into a single subject by Tung, and it's our time to experiment with evolving shapes, glazes, designs, and the making process. Learn more about Heath's unique design process, and the inspiration behind Tung's animals and stories. RSVP soon — spots fill up quickly!
Design Series 5: Forming Fables is our most personal show yet. Continuing to explore the possibilities of designing with clay, Tung presents over 100 hand-formed ceramic animals that are as beautiful and charming as the illustrated stories that accompany them. The work ranges from playful to serious to moving to sophisticated, bringing to life the story behind each animal, whether a hummingbird, cat, or a three-legged-dog.
After the talk, join us for the opening reception from 6 to 8 pm to see (and shop) Tung’s new work; you can RSVP for that here.
