Artist Reception for David Fullarton's "The Potential for Further Disaster Remains" at The Compound Gallery

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Please join us October 28 for a colorful evening of dark humor, shared struggles, and general foolishness with beloved San Francisco artist David Fullarton as he launches his new solo show, "The Potential for Further Disaster Remains," with an artists' reception at The Compound Gallery.

The reception, which will feature more than 40 new works by Fullarton, will run October 28 from 6-9 p.m. The show will run from October 21-December 10.

David Fullarton's seventh solo show at the Compound Gallery is his first to feature work created since he plummeted headlong into his sixth decade as a human being, a milestone that helped shape this show's theme as "a wry reminder that no matter how bad things may seem, they can always get far worse." Fullarton also continues to playfully dissect the absurdity of our modern malaise. Deploying his trademark dark humor and ruthless wit, his work laughs in the face of looming catastrophe and ridicules the disappointing reality of diminished contemporary existence. "It's all about hopelessness, regret, despair and disappointment, but in a fun way," Fullarton added.

So, take a well-earned break from the relentlessness of our daily struggle, enjoy a little chuckle at the ridiculousness of our shared predicament, and then prepare yourself for the next onslaught.
