SEE EVENT DETAILS
Sanchez Art Center, Pacifica-- Opening Friday, Oct 25, with a reception from 7 to 9 pm, the Art Guild of Pacifica will be celebrating local artists with their 66th Annual Members Show! Live music at the opening will be provided by Blue on Jazz, a four-piece band brought together by local musician Rob Wullenjohn. Nearly half of over 200 members in the Guild submitted work for the Show. Their artworks are an exciting mix including paintings in oil, acrylic and watercolor; pen and ink, pastel and graphite; fiber and textile works; linocut, woodcut and screen print, various photographic processes and 3D sculptures, reflecting diversity in style and mediums. Jenna Erwin, Project Manager, Asian Art Museum, San Francisco, will be selecting this year's awards.
Featured concurrently in the Main Gallery are the 65th Annual Awards Exhibition artists, Deborah Corsini (tapestry weaving), Joel Fontaine (paintings, watercolor + pen and ink), Shane Murphy (needle ink on paper), and Cynthia Rettig (archival digital print photography). The Exhibition Award artists were visited by last year's judge Nancy Mizuno Elliott, City College of San Francisco Art Professor and Curator for City College Art Gallery who selected new works from each to present this year. The artists will be in conversation with Ms. Mizuno Elliott on Sunday, Nov 3 at 3:30 pm in the Main Gallery. Sanchez Art Center is located at 1220 Linda Mar Blvd. After the Oct 25 exhibition opening, galleries are open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 1-5 pm. The exhibitions run through Sunday, Nov 24.
