The UCSF Alliance Health Project (AHP) hosts its 23rd annual fundraiser, Art for AIDS, on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. at Adobe in San Francisco, California. Art for AIDS is an annual charity art auction presenting the carefully curated works of local and national artists. All sales from the auction benefit AHP in providing free or low-cost client care to San Francisco's LGBTQ and HIV-affected communities.
Art for AIDS is a creative gathering of artists, designers, patrons, business leaders and caring community members. This much-anticipated annual fundraiser brings together the art world with AHP, one of the nation's pioneering LGBTQ and HIV/AIDS mental health organizations. According to Lori Thoemmes, LMFT, Executive Director of AHP, "this is a unique event that has a direct, life-affirming impact on those who are often marginalized in our society. Our clients are grateful for the overwhelming kindness and generosity of everyone involved."
This year, the juried live and silent auctions will include 169 artworks -- painting, photography, mixed media and sculpture -- by artists such as Hung Liu, Catherine Mackey, Gustavo Ramos Rivera, Fernando Reyes, Heather Wilcoxon and Tim Yankosky. The art world is a community deeply aware of the toll of the HIV epidemic, and all the participating artists hope to create an inspiring evening for everyone attending.
Every winning bid makes a difference in someone's life by contributing to AHP's client service programs. Since the agency's inception in 1984, AHP's dedicated team of mental health and behavioral health professionals has established a stellar reputation for their outstanding client care. Art for AIDS is a way for AHP to continue to serve the critical needs of the LGBTQ and HIV-affected communities in San Francisco.
Along with the an evening of camaraderie and diverse artwork, some of the San Francisco Bay Area's finest restaurants and wineries will provide gourmet food and libations. Enjoy a memorable evening of art, generosity and compassion with the staff and volunteers of AHP.
