10AM-5PM: Dialogue on Arts & Culture in the Pilipinx Diaspora - a convening of local and international Pilipino artists, funders and administrators exploring urgent issues of sustainability, cultural transmission, building upon traditional practices, and innovation & hybridity in the arts. Topics include Folkloric/Indigenous Diasporic Expressions; Creative Survival Tactics; and Intersection of Arts, Civic Engagement, and Funding. There will also be a panel featuring artists from the PostColonial Surivival Kit exhibition. Food and Refreshments provided!
7PM-9PM: Kamayan Kabaret ($35 online, $40 at the door!) - a traditional communal dinner of bountiful Pilipinx cuisine on banana-leaf-covered tables, eaten with hands only! Performances and hosted by comic/theater artist Joe Cascasan, music by Aimee Amparo and Josua Icban, and comic/theater artists Kat Evasco.
