SEE EVENT DETAILS
Ariel Wang "Bridges" CD Release with Briget Boyle, Heather Normandale, and Wayfairy, launching Sub Rosa Sound.

Ariel Wang
https://arielwangmusic.com
"Wang's music feels like the soundtrack to a powerful moment and listening, watching, you can't help but feel overwhelmed in the right kind of way." - The Deli Magazine

After almost a decade since the inception of her first EP, Ariel Wang has come into herself as an artist with her new album, "Bridges." With splashes of bowed banjo and thumping cello, strings and acoustic guitar, her music pulls from a deep grounding in folk with hints of metal, western classical music, and progressive rock.

Wayfairy
https://wayfairy.bandcamp.com
Wayfairy started with a banjo on the turnpike and has grown into a six piece music project that fills the sonic space between mournful folk and riotous punk. Originally the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist Quiver Watts, Wayfairy has grown into a collective project that blends accordion, banjo, violin, washboard and upright bass with soft vocal harmonies, punctuated by raw wails.

Heather Normandale
http://www.heathernormandale.com
From Melodic and rootsy mermaid folk to dreamy psychadelic pop, Heather's emotive vocal parts, syncopated banjo rhythms and afropop inspired electric guitar are met with a solid and driving rhythm section with upright bass, drums and balafon. Lyrics playfully celebrate the inner compass that seeks models in nature.

Briget Boyle
http://www.brigetboyle.com
Briget Boyle's background ranges from the folk music of the Balkans to the folk music that surrounds her on the West Coast of the United States. A prolific songwriter, vocalist, and guitar player based in Oakland, California, Briget recently released her second solo album, The Next Line. The record was hailed as a "fascinating and gripping listen" by Gabriel Aikins of Substream Magazine.

$10-20 sliding scale.
